Poson Celebrations are an experience of the rich traditions and spiritual significance of Poson Poya with the Sri Lankan community exhibited through devotional songs, traditional dances, and sharing of food.
Poson Poya commemorates the introduction of Buddhism to Sri Lanka in the third century BC. This sacred day marks the arrival of Arahat Mahinda, the son of emperor Ashoka of India, who brought the profound teachings of the Lord Buddha to the country. His arrival led to widespread influence on Sri Lankan culture, values, and way of life.
