This training offers foundational preparation for those wishing to serve as Apprentice Buddhist Chaplains, supporting Buddhists and individuals who prefer Buddhist spiritual care within New Zealand’s Healthcare and Hospice system.
After the 3-day course is completed participants will be accepted as Apprentice Buddhist Chaplains.
Apprentice Buddhist Chaplains work to accrue the 200 hrs of supervised experience by NZ Buddhist Chaplains necessary to become fully qualified New Zealand Buddhist Hospice & Healthcare Chaplains.
The workshop provides a comprehensive overview of essential skills and knowledge, ensuring Chaplains can offer care respectfully and appropriately to those they serve. To ensure effective communication and cover the extensive material within the three-day course, English proficiency is required. Unfortunately, translators cannot be accommodated due to time constraints and the volume of material. Thank you for your understanding.
